Ambrosi Food USA is the subsidiary of iconic Italian dairy producer Ambrosi Group, which has been producing, importing and distributing authentic Italian cheeses since 1942. From the Millennial Brooklyn Outpost, in Greenpoint, Ambrosi Food USA is working on marketing campaigns and distribution strategies to keep its unique cheeses relevant. In fact, Ambrosi Food USA is not just the importer for Ambrosi Group, rather a one-stop-solution for Italian quality and unique cheeses.

Ottorino Ambrosi, coming from an agricultural background, founds the Ambrosi company in 1942, upon his return from the war. He left behind his life as a decorated aviator, to begin his first butter production.

The aging and marketing of Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano becomes Ambrosi’s main activity.

Ambrosi Group is one of the first Italian companies to invest in consumer packaging of its cheeses to meet the demand of the flourishing supermarket trade.

To this day, the Ambrosi prides itself in using the most innovative technologies, whilst maintaining an artisanal production method, to guarantee the best possible preservation of flavor, as well as to provide a high quality of service to its customers.

The production, aging and packaging activities of hard cheese and butter are transferred to the Castenedolo plant.

Giuseppe Ambrosi becomes president of Ambrosi Group, starting the international growth strategy.

Today, already a third-generation company, Ambrosi is carrying forward the mission of global expansion, with strategic acquisitions and subsidiaries in France, the UK and the USA.

Ambrosi Food USA is created with the vision of bringing its history, expertise and tradition to North America.

Ambrosi acquires Abele Bertozzi Spa, an historic Parmigiano Reggiano company founded in 1901 in the heart of Parma.

Ambrosi USA establishes its HQ in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Ambrosi USA opens its commercial office in San Francisco.

Ambrosi USA ships cheese via boat or the famous Ambrosi Air Program to its warehouse in New York, where it’s cared for to maintain freshness and taste.

US Re-brand & Launch of 'Ambrosi Millennials' - a line of over 30 PDO fresh to order, fixed weight precut cheese completely cut and packaged in the USA.

Thanks to Ambrosi USA, retailers and distributors can now have access to a wide assortment of fine Italian cheeses available directly in the USA.

Ambrosi Food USA was born with the goal of honoring, elevating and thus preserving tradition: culinary tradition, community tradition and motivation to experiment and innovate. We select, import and distribute specialty cheeses from a number of partners which we have identified, and of which we are the sole importer. We recognized these brands for A) being a Family Run business like us, B) Having a passionate and professional management and cheesemaking team and C) having the drive to constantly produce truly exceptional and unique cheeses.
Without Ambrosi USA's help some of these cheeses would become obsolete in the US and would put in jeopardy the local community of producers and stakeholders who dedicate their lives to this craft.
