Sustainabile practices
Find out the 5 pillars of our sustainability practices.
We are committed to promoting a circular economy. Our goal is to reduce our Waste Footprint primarily by reducing the amount of plastic we use in our packaging.
________________________________________________________________________________________
✔︎ plastic package thickness reduction
Reduction of 28% of plastic on several packs;
6 tons of plastic saved per year;
Undergoing tests for further reduction (average of 27%).
✔︎ Paper and cardboard packs
2025 Target: 100% of primary packs (cheese wrap)
Most of cardboard secondary packs are made from FSC materials (correctly-managed forests)
✔︎ Carbon black
Difficulty for some automated recycling systems to recognize the type of material.
Ambrosi has removed 100% of carbon black from its packs.
✔︎ Landfill policy
NO waste generated by Ambrosi is allowed to be disposed of in landfill sites.
Our goal is to significantly reduce our direct CO2 emissions - constantly innovating. We do that through a number of technological implementations.

☀︎ Solar Energy
Photovoltaic system installed on roof producing 14% of our consumption
Saving ~ 300,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year
☀︎ heat recovery
Energy recovery using the water from condensation of the refrigerators and the warm serum of the Grana Padano.
☀︎ lights
Only LED lighting
Achieved a daily saving of 33.580 kWh = 14,5 Ton CO2
☀︎ Farm energy recovery
We convert heat and waste from our Grana Padano cows farm to generate energy for the daily run of our facility & for the community that lives around it.
☀︎ asbestos free facility
In our quest for excellence, we realized that milk coming from sustainable facilities, adhering to strict standards, not only is good for the environment…but tastes better.

Life cycle management
Ambrosi is a third-generation family owned business, so the ‘family’ is at the core of our business. Success can only be achieved if the family is united towards the same goal.
Any employee working at Ambrosi becomes part of our family. As such, the company helps them grow, inspires them and takes interest in their well-being both in and out of the company.
Ambrosi is committed to promoting intergenerational development and aims to fill some key vacancies with internal candidates.
We understand that the only way to improve is to constantly innovate, which is why Ambrosi is committed to supporting research projects that will lead to a more sustainable approach to doing business.
